I might drop canva for this tbh
I just tried Kodo, a new AI design tool.
It is very easy to use. I created an Instagram carousel and turned it into a poster, all through chatting. You can edit on the fly right in the editor. I love the result.
I got early access to @usekodo and have been testing it recently. The experience was a lot like the first time I used Canva x10. I'm not a designer but suddenly I can make things that look really good.....
this is a genuinely useful app: text to design. amazing what @mlg27_ has done
Design via chatting. This is really impressive
I've been using it as a starting point for my design work and it's been giving me so much inspiration!
Common poster sizes include: 18×24 inches (small), 24×36 inches (standard/most popular), and 27×40 inches (movie poster size). For social media, use platform-specific dimensions. Kodo supports custom dimensions - enter your exact size requirements when creating your design.
For professional print quality, use 300 DPI (dots per inch). At this resolution, a 24×36 inch poster requires 7200×10800 pixels. Kodo automatically exports at 300 DPI for print projects. For digital-only posters, 150 DPI is sufficient and creates smaller file sizes.
Effective poster design follows the 3-second rule - viewers should grasp your message instantly. Use a clear visual hierarchy with one dominant element, limit text to essential information, choose high-contrast colors, and include a clear call-to-action. Kodo's AI applies these principles automatically.
Export your poster as a PDF for professional printing - it preserves vector graphics, fonts, and colors accurately. Use CMYK color mode if your printer requires it. For online sharing or digital displays, PNG offers excellent quality with transparency support, while JPG works well for photos.
Add 0.125 inches (3mm) bleed on all sides - this is the area that gets trimmed after printing. Keep important text and graphics at least 0.25 inches (6mm) from the trim edge (safe zone). Kodo can automatically set up proper bleed and margin guides for professional printing.
Yes! Kodo's tech poster tool is free to use. New users get 40 AI credits once. Each AI-generated design uses 4-12 credits. Manual design tools are always free with no credit limit.
